Becoming Insured
OPHS staff members are very happy to assist you in determining your eligibility and completing an application for any of the insurance programs listed below, or if you have recently received benefits from one of these programs we are happy to answer any questions and serve as your medical home.
Medicaid
Medicaid is a federally sposnored insurance program that will provide coverage for physician visits, medications, specialty referrals if warranted, physical therapy and other care.
MiChild
MiChild is a health insurance plan for uninsured children of Michigan’s working families.
Oakland County Health Plan
This health plan covers physician visits (with a copay), basic labs and radiology procedures, a limited formulary of medications, limited specialty referrals, and other outpatient visits. It does not cover inpatient hospitalizations.
Plan First
This program is designed to provide family planning services to women age 19 to 44.
MOMS Program
Maternity Outpatient Medical Services, the free prenatal care designated for women who are pregnant or were recently pregnant, and who are eligible, applying or actively pursuing Medicaid/Healthy kids coverage, but have not yet begun or are not yet able to receive benefits.
Mercy Support
Sponsored by OPHS partner Saint Joseph Mercy Oakland, Mercy support is a program for the uninsured that provides services by using the resources of SJMO. These resources include the use of SJMO facilities, personnel, medications and other resources as appropriate.
Riley Foundation
Sponsored by the Riley Foundation of Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital, the Riley Foundation provides uninsured women with mammograms including diagnostic and treatment services.
