Preston Thomas, MD is a graduate of Pontiac Northern High School. He decided to return to his native town after completing his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University and his medical degree at Wayne State University. Dr. Thomas has been practicing preventative and comprehensive medicine since 2003. Prior to joining to OPHS in 2002, he worked at Oakwood Hospital in Southeast Michigan.
Michelle Caffey, RN, MSN, Family Nurse Practitioner is a graduated from Pontiac Northern High School. Michelle Caffey returned to her native town of Pontiac, Michigan after completing her undergraduate nursing degree at the University of Michigan. Ms. Caffey completed her Master’s Degree of Nursing at Wayne State University and received a post-graduate certificate as a family nurse practitioner from The University of Michigan. Ms. Caffey currently specializes in infectious diseases. She joined OPHS in 2002 and serves as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Prasani Jayatilake, MD is a native of Sri Lanka and a graduate of Visaka Girls High School in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Dr. Jayatilake completed her medical degree at North Colombo Medical College, Sri Lanka, and she completed her residency at Wayne State University Family Medicine Residency in 2002. Prior to joining OPHS, Dr. Jayatilake practiced at Michigan Urgent Care Center. Her interests are women’s health and pediatrics.
Kelly Everden, CPNP completed her undergraduate nursing education at Oakland University. She earned her graduate degree and Nurse Practitioner certification from the Univeristy of Michigan. She has cared for both adults and children in the role of a staff nurse, and as a school nurse in the Pontiac School District. Mrs. Everden has been a Nurse Practitioner at the Pontiac Teen Health Center since 2003.
Lynn Lawlor, CPNP has been a pediatric nurse for twenty-five years, with experience in Pediatric Rehab, Acute Care Pediatrics and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. She graduated with her Bachelors Degree in Nurinsg from Columbia University and her Masters Degree in Nursing from Wayne State University in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and a Post Masters in Pediatric Nursing. She has been a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for the past fourteen years; twelve of which have been at the Pontiac Teen Health Center.
Dorothy Rodriguez, ANP-PC was raised in Metro Detroit. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Eastern Michigan Univeristy. After working eight years, she returned to graduate school at Wayne State University and earned a Masters Degree in Nursing as an Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Dottie has worked with adolescents in school based health centers in Detroit and Waterford for 10 years. Currently, she is the Nurse Practitioner and Clinic Coordinator at the Waterford Teen Health Center, a Child-Adolescent Health Center, located in the Waterford Durant High School.
Ashley K. Parks, MS, FNP-BCis a native of Southfield, Michigan where she graduated from Southfield-Lathrup High School. Earning her Bachelor's degree from Oakland University in Rochester, MI., and Master's degree from University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, Ashley has devoted her practice to preventive and primary care. She has a passion for adolescent and adult health, as well as chronic disease management. Prior to joining OPHS, Ashley has practiced as a Nurse Practitioner in adult and geriatric private practice, acute care facilities, and walk-in/urgent care clinics. She takes most pride in establishing bonding relationships with her patients and helping to improve the overall health of the families in her surrounding communities.
